It’s a wrong idea to have charging post at the parking lot .
In reality you can’t really do that (charge it and walk away) you have to know that vandalism will always be there .
A better and easier way would be – once the battery near flat , u drive your car to a battery station and get a fully charge battery replacement instantly like the way japanese do it .

can we buy these cars yet?

The electric car is emerging thanks to the internet, that put the truth on people minds. If there weren’t, this subject would still berried, like in the decades before, to public eye.

Worthwhile electric cars have been around for years, but there true performance is not being publicised, rather the opposite. Try “who killed the electric car” for the truth!

guys, search for AIR powered care / or compressed air. It is likely to be cheaper, but i think electric cars sound alot cooler ;p

Electric cars are coming, but the Li batteries are a huge cost when it comes time for a new one, for that car try 10-15K USD, so to say its very low cost to operate is not quiet true. And li batteries have a limited lifetime no matter if your using it or not, 7 years is not correct, its 5 years.

They great, but you better really count the cost and know what it is.

Bloody hell – they’re here! I thought worthwhile electric cars were years away.

I love electric cars!! They are the future! A clean future! And more cheap to drive, no noise….

Güzel calisma… 2010 Yilinda artik sarj etmeye de gerek kalmayacak (hava ile elektrik üreten bir jenaratör) ile beslenerek sarj derdi de sona erecek.

He states it will go 75 miles per charge.

But if you are mostly driving on motorway speeds – what distance will it travel beyondhelp00?

beyondhelp00 December 9, 2009 at 2:56 PM

There is little to no ‘real’ information in this at all. Its simply advertising.

Its performance is exaggerated at best. 6hrs on a 16A supply at best you’d get 23Kw/h of ‘fuel’ This wouldn’t go far at dual carriage/motorway speeds at all, although I accept its designed for town/city.

Its also misleading by saying charge it for under a pound. Perhaps at night with economy dual rate electricity. But don’t forget to mention if you have this your daytime rate will be higher.

Hi, EVnut :-)

I also hope, that they will release the left hand steering wheel drive soon, as well.

I already have lobbied at my nearest Citroen dealer, to give them a signal, that there is a consumer demand.

darelldd December 9, 2009 at 3:15 PM

Looks like it has everything we need… except availability! Bring it!

AndY1ksi December 9, 2009 at 4:10 PM

Citroen is no small time manufacturer ;-)

I already drive Vectrix electric, but I want an Electric C1 for my gf. When is it coming to mainland EU?

Anothercoilgun December 9, 2009 at 4:57 PM

Not bad not bad. Chevy better step up to the plate. All these small time manufacturers are showing them up and makes usa looks ashame.
