You’re right, they weren’t making fun of the car, they were making fun of the drivers of the car.
They weren’t dissing hybrid vehicles in general, they were just making fun of the people who drive them and act smug about it.
mcmiljr, if you watched the episode, you would know that it is about how people blow the benefits of driving hybrids out of proportion and how the people who drive them are too full of themselves.
This is f’ing retarded. Those guys (parker and stone) are funny sometimes, but I can’t stand the cynicism.
First of all, the Youngbloods song they’re lampooning (“get together”) was a great song that stood for something special. Secondly, driving hybrids is nothing more than reasonable (not brilliant or cool, just reasonable). This song manages to be callous, a-historical, unreasonable, and downright stupid, all in one.
It’s funny how this song only consists of a few words yet it’s so hard to memorize!
