the unit i have does have a limit switch to control the water temp. its a 1500w it cuts off at 180f and cycles on at 160f. 2 gallons of hot water should be plenty for a trip to work. then i can always plug up before the return trip

i have already taken the heater apart and found there is a limint switch. the unit cuts on and off at 160f and 180f.

i saw a video of a large van that was converted into a hybrid. it was useing a simular setup and it increased the trucks fuel mileage. any savings we are able to get is better than nothing.
check out the honda models they are real quiet , small and portable
take a look at cloud ev there is a pedal made that you can bolt to the floor.
i have watch a vid that shows a large parcel van that was made into a hybrid. its kind of what you are describeing. i am not sure of the poster’s id. thay were useing an ev motor to help the truck under a load.

By keeping the ICE hooked to the front wheels I can switch from EV to ICE if I have a problem with the EV traction pack. I can have some type of solenoid to switch the accelerator from the carburetor to the EV controller pot.
I like to be able to remove all the EV modifications so I can sell the jeep at a later date.

I have 2005 jeep liberty 4X4 and I was thinking of keeping the stock gas engine this will idle and drive all the accessories, then I will remove the rear drive shaft and have a NetGane TransWarP 9 motor driving the rear wheels. I have all sorts of room under the jeep for batteries.
I just wanted to see if any one has tried or seen this done
You may be planning this or your heater may have it built in, but install a thermostat to cut the heater in out at a preset temperature.

As I watched this video I thought you might use a small plastic ice chest for your water/antifreeze storage and then you could also use the same chest for your AC ice storage. By drilling holes and fitting pipe fittings it’d would work pretty good and hold the temperature somewhat. Anyway, great idea you’ve got there.
its going to get 3-4 cups of anifreeze so it should not grow any new lifeforms.

OOOooo Me Likeee, Good idea. ac and heat. Hung hot water when theres no power too. YEP I like it. Looking good guy’s. I had a thought, ya know when you get a hot water bed they give you some sort of powder treatment stuff to keep the insideds of the mattress clean from algi buildup. maybe that would be good for that pump system to. its not like your going to be drinking it and it will be there for a while right. anyway. keep up the good work.
man your car is cherry. the heater will be in the truck this weekend. i just could not think of a better way to heat the truck than this and i am impressed with the trial run

hey norm! i’ve got one of those heaters now too! if you put a restricter in the outlet from the heater element it will slow down the flow and heat the water quicker! just a thought!
